Over the past few years, together with many colleagues, I have been setting up a BA Digital Society at the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences at Maastricht University. It is an interdisciplinary programme. Our graduates will work at the interface of society and digitalisation. I wrote a short article about our aims for the April 2020 number of the European Association for International Education.
In September 2019, we welcomed 75 students from 20 different countries. The students (and staff) have been affected by the corona crisis, though we did manage to deliver all of the first year.
We welcomed 115 new students in September 2020, from 29 different countries. For the first months of the 2020-21 academic year, we will continue to offer teaching online. The picture accompanying this page was taken while I was recording lectures for our first year students.
You can find more about the programme here, including links to videos made during the launch event with students and me.
Dr Katleen Gabriels is now the programme director (since 1 August 2020).
