New book chapter

My FASoS colleagues, Elsje Fourie and Christin Hoene, have edited a fabulous new collection, called The Stories We Tell. Creative Non-Fiction Accounts of Our Research. It includes 19 contributions from across the faculty – political scientists, STS scholars, literary theorists and more. Topics range from shoes being made in Ethiopia, cryptoqueens on the run, and museums. My own contribution – spoiler – is about going to the dentist, and admiring their extraordinary range of high- and low-tech skills. It is called “Caring for Teeth”.

We had lots of fun writing, reading and editing each other’s work in a series of workshops. We hope that this sort of creative non-fiction will help us reach new audiences, beyond our academic peers.
