For the 2022 EASST Conference, together with Michela Cozza and Nina Klimburg-Witjes, I had the pleasure of organising both a sub-plenary session and a writing contest. Both were on the theme of ‘techno-science fictional futures’. We invited conference participants to write poetry, flash fiction and short stories.
We were very impressed by the quality of the entries. The winners and honourable mentions are included in the autumn 2022 issue of EASST Review. Speculative and science fiction are an important source of imagination for designers and engineers. Maybe such creative non-fiction can also become important outputs for scholars of science and technology studies (STS).
